How to add movies into your Falcon 4 Theaters by Toonces.
It is very similar to the procedure for adding theater music.
Theaters\Kurile\art\main\movies.irc
and save as movies.lst
Make sure you have the following folder:
theaters/kurile/art/main
Inside that folder, ensure you have the files:
movies.id movies.irc
The “movies.irc” in the FF5.55 art/main folder looks like this:
[MOVIE] MV_SEOULBESEIGED "movies\E1A.avi" [FALL OF SEOUL: SEOUL UNDER FIRE] [MOVIE] MV_SEOULFALLS "movies\E1B.avi" [FALL OF SEOUL: SEOUL FALLS] [MOVIE] MV_PYONGYANGBESEIGED "movies\E2A.avi" [FALL OF PYONGYANG: COMBINED FORCES REACH PYONGYANG] [MOVIE] MV_PYONGYANGFALLS "movies\E2B.avi" [FALL OF PYONGYANG: PYONGYANG CAPTURED] [MOVIE] MV_THEMPUSHEDBACK "movies\E3.avi" [DPRK PUSHED BACK TO DMZ] [MOVIE] MV_USPUSHEDBACK "movies\E4.avi" [COMBINED FORCES PUSHED BACK TO DMZ] [MOVIE] MV_USOFFENDS "movies\E5.avi" [COMBINED FORCE COMMAND GOES ONTO THE OFFENSIVE] [MOVIE] MV_USDEFENDS "movies\E6.avi" [COMBINED FORCES PUT ON THE DEFENSIVE] [MOVIE] MV_CHINAJOINS "movies\E8.avi" [CHINA ENTERS WAR] [MOVIE] MV_RUSSIAJOINS "movies\E9.avi" [RUSSIA ENTERS WAR] [MOVIE] MV_UIFORTRESS "movies\OF.avi" [OPERATION: FORTRESS] [MOVIE] MV_UIROLLINGFIRE "movies\OR.avi" [OPERATION: ROLLING FIRE] [MOVIE] MV_UITIGERSPIRIT "movies\OT.avi" [OPERATION: TIGER SPIRIT] [MOVIE] MV_THEMWINS "movies\XL.avi" [VICTORY CONDITIONS ACHIEVED, ENEMY SIDE] [MOVIE] MV_STALEMATE "movies\XS.avi" [TOTAL STALEMATE: NO ABILITY LEFT TO FIGHT] [MOVIE] MV_TIMESUP "movies\XT.avi" [TIME LIMIT] [MOVIE] MV_USWINS "movies\XW.avi" [VICTORY CONDITIONS ACHIEVED, PLAYER'S SIDE]
The movie titles match up with those in the FF5.55 Movies folder.
To create your theater specific movies, you create a movies folder in your 3rd party theater folder, ie:
theaters/kurile/movies
In that folder you place your movie files, that match the movie titles above, ie.
“e8.avi” or “OF.avi” that match the reason for the movie.
So, if I wanted an intro movie for my Kurile Divine Wind campaign, and the campaign was in the spot occupied by Korea Rolling Fire campaign, then I would create a Kurile intro movie and save it in my theaters\Kurile\movies folder as “OR.avi”.
Format for Korea movies is 320×240 .avi
This should get you close. The easiest thing to do to learn this is find the 3rd party theater you're trying to modify, copy these files from your Korea install into it as described above, then make an edit and see what happens. You may need to experiment to find the exact technique. I haven't done it yet, but this should be close.
